How it Works
The application process can seem overwhelming at first, but we’ll help you through all the steps. Here is an overview of the process, with the major milestones outlined. It can take a minimum of 1 year to complete the process.
Start
Obtain and complete a pre-application.
Milestone 1
If you pre-qualify, you will pay an application fee of $25 and be invited to an information meeting. You will be asked to complete a full application.
Milestone 2
Complete steps for approval to continue in the process. Family Selection Committee will conduct a home visit.
Milestone 3
After complying with program goals and completing a minimum of 50 “sweat equity” hours, your name will be presented for Board approval.
Milestone 4
Family Partner level is achieved when a minimum of 150 hours of “sweat equity” is completed and all requirements are on schedule.
Milestone 5
Family Selection process begins for build season and steps to participate in home construction are provided.
Finish
Take possession of your home at closing.
