VolunteerUp Instructions

Habitat for Humanity of Greenville uses an online volunteer management system. You may sign up online to volunteer for build days, check your commitments and cancel your volunteer days. Click here to begin.

If you’ve volunteered with us before, your information should be in the system. Please see the directions below to find your username and password. If you find that your username and password do not work, or log you into someone else’s profile,  call us at 864.672.6345.

To Log In and Update Your Information

  1. If you haven’t logged in yet, log in using the preset username and password assigned to you, following the formula below.  If you’ve already logged in, make sure to use the username and password you picked (if you changed it from the preset).
    Username
    : the first two letters of your first name + last name. For example, if your name is Scarlett O’hara, your username would be scohara
    Password
    : same as username
  2. Click on My Info (at the top of the page, immediately below the Habitat Greenville logo), then My Profile (in the white box) and then the Select button at the bottom of the page. This will take you to your profile.
  3. Make sure this is your profile. If it is not, do not change the information since we could have volunteers with the same name and we do not want to lose anyone’s contact information. Log out and call Karen McDonald, Volunteer Services Assistant, at 864-370-4787 ext. 30.
  4. If it is your profile, change your username to something you will remember. Make sure to write it down and keep it in a safe place.
  5. Change your password to something you can remember as well. Write that down as well.
  6. Please update your contact information as needed. If your address, phone number or email address is out of date, please change it to the most current information. You can also indicate your availability and interests to help us make sure your volunteer experience is the best it can be.
  7. Most importantly, please indicate which teams you are involved with. These might be church groups, organizations you’re involved with, or builds you’ve worked on in the past. It’s a long list, so please scroll through to make sure you have checked all the groups that apply.
  8. Once you are through updating your information, please make sure to click the “Update“ button at the bottom of the page.
  9. Now you are ready to start signing up to volunteer!

To Sign Up to Volunteer

  1. Log in to VolunteerUP using the link (click on the VolunteerUP image) above.
  2. Use the username and password that you created when you signed up or what you changed it to when you updated your information (if we already had you in our database).
  3. Looking at the calendar, find the date and project for which you want to volunteer.  If you don’t see the project listed at the top of the calendar, click on Click here for more projects (located at the top right hand corner of the calendar).
  4. Click on Sign Up in the box under the correct project and beside the correct date.
  5. At the top of the page, you will see check boxes where you should indicate the shift(s) for which you would like to volunteer.  The Morning Construction shift goes from 7:30 am until noon, while the Afternoon Construction shift goes from 1 pm until 5 pm. To the right you can see how many more volunteers are needed for each shift.
  6. If you are part of a group and are signing up more than just yourself for the day, indicate the number you are bringing (not including yourself) in the box under Your Guests.  Also, be sure to tell us the name of your group in the field labeled Group Name.
  7. To send yourself an email reminder, use the drop down box to tell VolunteerUP how many days before the event you would like to get that email.
  8. Once you have told us the shift(s) you would to volunteer, and told us about your group (if you are signing up for the whole group), click the Update button, located both at the top and bottom of the page. You can then print a page confirming your sign up or email a confirmation to yourself.
  9. Click the Return button to return to the calendar page, where you can either continue signing up for more days or log out.
