Own Your Home? We Offer Help with Weatherization and Repairs

Our weatherization program is conducted in collaboration with Furman University’s Shi Center for Sustainability’s Community Conservation Corps. Services include weatherstripping, installation of insulation and vapor barriers, and improvements to home safety. The goal of the program is to reduce energy consumption and promote the financial stability of homeowners with low income. The application process is managed by the Community Conservation Corps. Become a Weatherization and Repair Program Volunteer

If you're 16 or older, we'd love to have you volunteer on weatherization and repair projects!  Here's what you need to know:

  • Volunteer opportunities for weatherization and repair projects take place on various weekdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Only a full-day volunteer shift is offered. Lunch is provided.
  • No construction experience is needed; you will be working with staff and task leaders.
  • Do not come directly to the build site. Click on the orange box below to access the online registration site, to view opportunities and register to volunteer.
  • Volunteers must provide an adult waiver form (if 18 or older) or a minor waiver form (with parent’s signature, if 16-17 years old). Email your completed form to On your volunteer day, be sure to arrive 15 minutes early so that we can start on time.
