Kytorya and her children
Kytorya has five beautiful children and an unstoppable drive to give them a home. She is a single mother who works for BMW and takes care of her kids: Nevaeh, Naveas, Trinity, Jordin and Meagan. They all enjoy going to school and earning good grades—now she wants to give them a sense of permanence she never had.
Kytorya’s father passed away when she was a young child. Growing up, she moved around a lot while her mom struggled to make ends meet. She helped support her family by working multiple jobs when she was in high school.
Over the years, Kytorya and her family have lived in several rental properties and hotels. There have been moments when they worried about where they would sleep the next day. Both Safe Harbor and United Ministries have provided short-term relief, but they’re ready for long-term stability.
Kytorya has always dreamed of homeownership, but it was always out of reach — until now. She joined Habitat for Humanity’s Homeward Bound program, and single- handedly settled more than $18,000 in debt to be on the path toward owning a home for the first time in her life.
For Kytorya and her children, homeownership means stability. “We don’t have to worry about finding another place,” she says. “It’s going to be ours permanently.”
