ReStore Manager (Full-time position available)

Reports To:         Director of ReStore Operations
FLSA Status:       Exempt

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a division of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County. The ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated building materials and household items to support HFHGC’s operating budget.  Through its efforts, the ReStore facilitates recycling, minimizes landfill waste, provides low-cost home improvement items, and increases Habitat’s visibility in our community.

Position Summary:

The role of the ReStore manager is to facilitate the growth of the store’s employees, donation base, and sales. The manager is responsible for the day to day operational success of the location. They are the frontline decision maker and are expected to lead from the front.  As both a leader and a steward, this role’s main focus is to provide a consistent revenue stream supporting Habitat Greenville's mission to build affordable housing for families with low income.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and grow donations and sales, while maintaining or reducing costs for the ReStore.
Exemplify and train all staff in the execution of excellent customer service for donors, customers, and volunteers
Build and maintain donor relationships within the local community including individuals, businesses, and community and faith-based organizations
Define and monitor metrics for store employee success
Conduct annual formal and informal reviews for the purpose of instilling and developing the core values of Habitat Greenville with every employee
Hire and maintain an adequate and well-trained staff to achieve excellence in all facets of store operation
Ensure accountability of staff to standards set forth in the employee handbook
Recognize and encourage employees for excellence in the performance of their duties
Ensure all staff understand and are able to communicate the mission of HFH to the public
Maintain a safe and clean work environment for all customers, volunteers, and staff in compliance with all corporate, state, and federal laws
Participate in the development and implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns
Monitor and maintain the organization and cleanliness of all aspects of the ReStore, understanding the importance of always putting our best foot forward
Other duties as assigned by the Director of ReStore Operations

Qualifications:

A minimum of five years of customer service experience
A minimum of three years' supervisory experience
High school diploma required;  Bachelor’s degree preferred
Cash handling and POS operation experience
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Computer-knowledgeable including Microsoft Office and Quickbooks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Non-profit experience is a plus, but not required

ReStore Team Member (Full and Part-time Position Available)

FLSA Status:       Non-Exempt

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a division of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County. The ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated building materials and household items to support HFHGC’s homebuilding program. Through its efforts, the ReStore facilitates recycling, minimizes landfill waste, provides low-cost home improvement items, and increases Habitat’s visibility in our community.

Position Summary:

The job of the team member is to assist the store manager in making sure that all aspects of the ReStore’s daily operation are fulfilled in a timely and excellent manner.  A priority of the position is ensuring that our donors, customers, and volunteers receive the highest quality experience when interacting with Habitat for Humanity. Team members are tasked with customer service, donation receiving, cashiering, basic store cleaning and maintenance. As a representative of Habitat for Humanity in the ReStore’s local community, team members are expected to exemplify Habitat’s core values at all times. 

Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service
Operate POS system and accurately maintain a cash drawer
Assist customers and donors in the loading and unloading of merchandise
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the ReStore facility
Price and display donations on the sales floor appropriately and in a timely manner
Help build customers' understanding of how the ReStore supports the mission of Habitat
All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications:

Be able to lift 25 lbs.; High School diploma or GED preferred; Cash handling and POS operation experience is a plus; Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
