Job Title:             Assistant ReStore Manager
Reports To:         ReStore Manager
FLSA Status:      Non-exempt

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a division of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County. The ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated building materials and household items to support HFHG’s operating budget.  Through its efforts, the ReStore facilitates recycling, minimizes landfill waste, provides low-cost home improvement items, and increases Habitat’s visibility in our community.

Job Description:
The role of the Assistant ReStore manager is to support the ReStore Manager in facilitating the growth of the store’s employees, donation base, and sales.  The assistant manager is responsible to support the store manager as they pursue the day to day operational success of the location.  They are the secondary decision maker and they are expected to lead from the front.  As both a leader and a steward, this role’s main job is to provide a consistent revenue stream for the building of affordable housing for those in need.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and grow donation and sales, while maintaining or reducing costs for the ReStore.
  • Exemplify and train all staff in the execution of excellent customer service for donors, customers, and volunteers.
  • Build and maintain donor relationships within the local community including individuals, businesses, and community and faith-based organizations.
  • Help monitor metrics for store employee success, and help develop the core values of Habitat Greenville with every employee. 
  • Hold staff accountable to the standards set in the Employee handbook.  Recognize and encourage employees for excellence in the performance of their duties.
  • Ensure all staff understand and are able to communicate the mission of HFH to the public.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment for all customers, volunteers, and staff in compliance with all corporate, state, and federal laws. 
  • Help to support the store manager in overseeing and fulfilling operational roles as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain the organization and cleanliness of all aspects of the ReStore, understanding the importance of always putting our best foot forward.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.  

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of customer service experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year supervisor experience.
  • High School diploma or GED required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Cash handling and POS operation experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Non-profit experience a plus, but not required.
  • Computer knowledgeable including Microsoft Office and Quickbooks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description:
The purpose of the Team Member is to assist the Store Manager in making sure that all aspects of the ReStore’s daily operation are fulfilled in a timely and excellent manner.  Making sure our donors, customers, and volunteers receive the highest quality experience possible when interacting with Habitat for Humanity.  Team members are tasked with customer service, donation receiving, cashiering, basic store cleaning and maintenance.  Team members are the face of Habitat for Humanity in the ReStore’s local community and are expected to exemplify Habitat’s core values at all times. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Operate POS system and accurately maintain a cash drawer
  • Assist customers and donors in the loading and unloading of merchandise
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety in the ReStore
  • Price and display donations on the sales floor appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Help build customers understanding of how the ReStore helps to support the mission of Habitat.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.  

Skills and Qualifications

  • Be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Cash handling and POS operation experience is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 


Job Title:             ReStore Donation Truck Driver
Reports To:         Dispatch/Fleet Manager
FLSA Status:      Non-Exempt

Job Description:

The role of the ReStore Donation Truck driver is to operate a mobile donation drop that provides convenience and accessibility for our donors through home and on-site pick up of donations.  It is the driver’s responsibility to make sure our donors, customers, and volunteers receive the highest quality experience possible when interacting with Habitat for Humanity.  Drivers are tasked with customer service, donation receiving, truck cleaning and maintenance.  Team members are the face of Habitat for Humanity in the ReStore’s local community and are expected to exemplify Habitat’s core values at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Provide every donor with an accurate tax receipt
  • Oversee and direct truck helper in donor services and safety
  • Maintain consistent and appropriate communication with dispatch
  • Understand and enforce the guidelines for acceptable donations
  • Operate donation truck in a manner that is in compliance with all DOT, State, and Federal laws and regulations
  • Inspect vehicle daily for proper operation and safety, maintaining a clean and professional looking truck
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience driving a box or delivery truck
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Clean DMV record
  • Class C endorsement a plus, but not required
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
